Visa in person from the Vietnam Consulate in San Fran

I was planning to be in San Fran a few days before my trip to Vietnam. My understanding is that you can get your Vietnam tourist visa in person at the Consulate. I can%26#39;t seem to determine whether you can do this %26#39;same day%26#39; or whether you%26#39;d have to apply in person and then come back a few days later to retrieve the Visa. Has anyone done this?

Simple, take a visa upon arrival, what you need is to contact a local travel agent in Vietnam to help you with this paper before your arrival to Vietnam.
