Palace or Kim Do

I have been trying to find a location map on the internet of these 2 hotels, without much success.

They are both about the same price, and we were wondering which would be the better located bearing in mind that our interests are markets, cheap eats, and strolling through ,and taking photos of local streets and areas.

We are both 70 ish so would be looking to be close to the above.

I know that there are probably lots more choices but these are the most reasonably priced on our travel agents listing, and we would prefer to use the agent as it is relatively hassle free.

Just re-read this and feel i must add that we are quite fit for our age, and can walk a fair bit if we have to. So we dont have to be right next door to the markets etc.

Hope someone can advise.

Thank You.

Palace or Kim Do

If you go to this site

hotels-in-vietnam.com/hotels/saigon/district鈥?/a>

it will bring up a map of district 1 with the hotels you are looking at

Palace or Kim Do

Gander, Stayed at the KimDo last October.Very nice place, but a long walk to the Ben Thanh market and the back packer area(many resturants and hotels). I used the back of a motorbike (10K VND)to get to the market and the resturants.Nice upscale department store next to the KimDo.

Thank you both. Will check out the website.

Gander,

Both of these hotels are on the same street - Nguyen Hue. As a matter of fact, they are right across the street from each other.

For the same money, Kim Do is a better deal. It%26#39;s cleaner and more updated compared to the Palace Hotel.

Hi, can anyone tell me what the pool is like? (or point me to any pictures of it)

There are no hotel with pool at backpacker area (Pham Ngu Lao St) but near that have Metropole Hotel have swimming pool. Check here to see the photos

I have done ';A LOT'; of research on prices, especially for the kim do and coincedenatally the metropole. at the moment Wotif.com is the cheapest and is available to be booked a month and a half in advance....

is the backpacker region near the metropole? what is the nearest landmark?

Dear Mickies,
