Comments on 2 wk North Vietnam tour:please???

Have sussed out, with help from TA, that July will be ok for a 2 wk tour with husband and 11 yr old son. Advice / suggestions on draft itinerary sought please. Comments on time in each place sought pl..esp given I have an 11 yr old boy (used to travel)

Day 1: pm:leave Australia

Day 2: arrive Hanoi am

Day 3: Hanoi

Day 4: Hanoi. pm: o/night train to Sapa

Day 5: Sapa

Day 6: Sapa. pm: o/night train to Hanoi.

Day 7: am: arrive back to Hanoi.

Day 8: am: Transfer to Halong Bay. Board Halong Bay Junk.

Day 9: Halong Bay: Junk

Day 10: Halong Bay to Hanoi. Flight to Hue

Day 11:Hue

Day 12: Hue. pm: transfer to Hoi An

Day 13 Hoi An

Day 14: Hoi An

Day 15: am: Transfer to Hanoi. pm: Depart for Sydney

your itinerary is pretty good, well -organized plan, you will get all must see places just North and Center Vietnam but you should think about weather condition: Summer in the north lasts from May to October where temperatures range between 30-35 degrees Celsius with with the occasional burst of heavy rain.

Thanks manlyboy. Yes. Realise it will be hot but not much choice for time. That is why we don%26#39;t want to travel too quickly. We also hope to get hotels with a pool.

I agree with you, hotel with pool is fantastic but you know that it is hard to find one in Hanoi, Just only near the swimming, Hue has some is 3 - 5 star hotels. Hoi an is ideally place, every hotel with own pool. have a look for that! cheers
