innoculations

hi all can anybody tell me which innoculations i need to go to vietnam and how long in advance do i have to take thank you

innoculations

You usually get them not later than 1 month in advance. I got a shot for TDAP, HEP A, Typhoid and to top it off decided on getting the FLU Shot. The CDC website states what shots you should recieve. But it would be best for you to contact you local physican and have then schedule a appointment with a ';Travel Doctor';. They will sit with you and talk to you about your trip and prescibe that you needs based on the countries and locations you plan to visit. That would be the best decision.

many thanks dont go till september so excited go for month so much i want to see

Yep, I would advise to see a %26#39;Travel Doctor%26#39;, they will be more in tune with asking questions about exactly where you will be going etc. Sometimes a GP will list off absolutely everything that you may possibly come across if you travel to all corners of a particular country.

Make sure you get professional advice and preferably and %26#39;expert%26#39; in the area you are to visit.

This is from someone who in no way professes to have any knowledge :-)

thaqnk you so much for replying

Hello Happy,

Many of the travel clinics in the UK are private operations and charge for all vaccinations, whereas most of those you will need are free on the NHS. I suggest you read the following page and then navigate to the Vietnam section. Unless you have travelled to a yellow fever area in the past year there are no mandatory vaccinations. However it is wise to play safe and protect yourself against certain diseases - which ones will depend on which parts of Vietnam you will be visiting and at what time of year.

Sorry, here%26#39;s the link:

All you need is to book an appointment with a nurse at your GP surgery, it is quick and free. I just had my inoculations for our 2 week trip in April, one jab for hep A+typhoid and one jab for tetanus+diphteria+polio.

many thanks your message very easy to understand enjoy your trip

wow, you must have a good health system in England. Me and my husband had to pay $60 each to see the doctor (nurse does the needle tho with a rebate of $33 from the Government) and we also had to pay for our own script for the hep A/typhoid needle and that was $115 per person. So all up, around $300 for the 2 of us!!
