first timers

hello 3 couples in our 50%26#39;s, have no idea where to go in Vietnam. we have 2 weeks holiday in july this year and would like any advice, we all like nice accommodation on the beach and to do day trips from there, maybe one week somewhere and then the other weeks in another part of Vietnam. any suggestions?

Hi

Given that you want to spend a week in one place and based on your ages i would suggest you concentrate on the north. Say:

5 days in Hanoi - including an overnight trip to Halong bay, then

fly to Hue for 2 days, then

bus or car to Hoi An for a week.

In Hoi An you can either stay at the beach and travel into the old town for restaurants/ bars/ shopping OR stay in the town (plenty of places with pool) and travel out to the beach. Places in town generally much cheaper than beach resorts.

Hi Shelley,

Correct, Hoi An will be interesting for people of 50%26#39;s, beach clear, peacful...

Stay in Life resort hoi an or Victoria resort

Good trip

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne had nice beaches, Hoi An has the Cham Islands off the coast. Hoi An also has a very nice little area by the ';Japanese Bridge'; where you can walk along the river and do some serious shopping. I think Halong Bay is a must as it is absolutely breathtaking.

Saigon is a chaotic city but very interesting. Hanoi is more laid back.

Hi,it%26#39;s a great country so no matter where you decide to go you will have a great time.

Go out and buy the latest lonely planet guide for Vietnam. Its full of information and will help you plan your trip.

Don%26#39;t bring a lot of luggage with you as clothes are very cheap and good quality.

thank you so much everyone, you have been so helpful.
