Halong bay advice please

Hi there,

We will be arriving in Hanoi around midday from singapore in April. We are hoping to go to Halong bay the following day for an overnight cruise.

Can anyone advise as to whether we should book the cruise from here in the UK in advance? Or can we wait until we arrive in Hanoi, and will be able to book a cruise on the following day?

Keen to save money, but wanting to use a good company and cruise in reasonable style!

many thanks

Halong bay advice please

Everything in order in advance is highly recommended. I suggest you should book the service at this moment, there are a lots of overnight cruise in Halong, you should look around some reliable website for your reference and select one for your trip.

How is your budget for the trip, I will help you to find a nice junk with reasonable price?

Halong bay advice please

Red Dragon is highly recommended, booking can be made via Handpan, Footprint.

I%26#39;ve seen lots of advice about Red Dragon recently.

OOps, I have asked some of my friends who have just come back from Vietnam but they did not have any idea. Almost of them chose to cruise with Pinta Cruise (some with Valentine%26#39;s) and advised me not to miss Pinta.

I booked %26amp; now looking very much forward it.(on 26th Feb)

I think you should book in advance, do not need to push yourselves in a rush.If you arrive 2 or 3 days prior, it%26#39;s ok, but you just arrive midday (not enough time for a right choice).

Cheers.

I would recommend booking in advance with only such a short time in Hanoi prior.

We did the Red Dragon Cruise - it is new and luxurious - 10 course dinners etc.

It only takes 10 guests on board so it is very intimate. It is $168p/p for 2D/1N.

It cruises to Bai Tu Long bay which is exactly like Halong but without the crowds.

I have posted an article on Bai Tu Long bay - go to ';Things to Do'; and click on the link to Bai Tu Long - I posted it today so it should be up in a couple of days with some photos of the boat/our trip.

Their website is www.reddragoncruise.com - it also has some more pics of their boat - it is actually better than the pictures.

The staff were fantastic.

Anyway hope you have a great trip and time to relax (do the 3d/2n if you really want to chill out)

Cheers Twig

hihi,

I am planning a trip to Ho Chi Minh but also want to go Halong Bay. How long is the trip from HCM to Halong Bay?

Thanks.

Well, Ha Long Bay is northeast of Ha Noi, which is at the other end of the country from HCMC. About two hours%26#39; flight HCMC-Ha Noi, then four hours by bus to Ha Long Bay.
