Planning out my Vietnam Trip....

So as an an introduction, I%26#39;ve been thinking of taking my first trip to Asia and have decided on Vietnam. I%26#39;m 24, male, and will be traveling by myself. I was thinking last week in March-Early April.

I will be flying into and out of Ho Chi Minh. I%26#39;m planning on staying anywhere from 6 to 9 days.

I was thinking of also wanting to see Hoi An and Halong bay. Considering my overall budget (excluding airfare to HCMC is ~$800-$1,000) I figure going by tourist bus is best, but the will cut into my time budget. (esp considering I would have to make it back to HCMC for my flight back.

So where should I spend my time and how long should I stay in these spots?

Okay now a few logistical issues:

1) Visa: Am I safe applying for a Visa after I book my flight?

2) Language: I will be working on studying it before I leave, but as far as basic navigating, around how hard will it be?

3) Tours: Any tours I should try and squeeze in while there?

4) Cellphone data: Will I be able to get data service on my phone?

Hi Mike,

1) --%26gt; yes, can get visa on arrival once you final your flight %26amp; accomodation ( often before 7 days of departure)

2 ) English is popular in Vietnam, so don%26#39;t worry about the launguague

3) Tours %26amp; sight seeing: can visit Muine or Nhatrang for beach

Mekong delta tour...

Hope this useful for you

Good luck
