4 Hours off a cruise ship

We would be grateful for suggestions of the most effective way of getting a ';taste'; of Nha Trang when we stop off on our cruise for a measly 4 hours on 4th March ( a wednesday).

Do we just walk into town, have a look at the market, stroll along the beach? Or can we use the time productively to get a real flavour of the place.

I read on one report that it%26#39;s possible to get a ';cyclo-driver'; (is that really what they are called?) to take us around. Will they take 2 people? What could they show us? If we do this what sort of fair price should we expect to pay - and do we give a tip?

As you can see, Vietnam will be a whole new experience for us and we are anxious to learn as much as we can in that very short time.

thanks

Cyclo - ';xich lo'; in Viet Nam. every one takes one person. you must get 2 cyclo. But there is a small hill next to the harbour, too difficult for the cyclo driver going up. If you take a walk to the top of the hill, everything is OK.

Thanks

4 Hours off a cruise ship

I sometimes wonder why these cruise ships stop for a miserable 4 hours i think its to take on supplies, they advertise going to all these places and all it does is to give travelers a bad impression of any town or city.

Do a couple of laps around tripadvisor to see whats there grab a taxi for a few dollars and visit the close to town sights

Hi,Guess you will arrive early morning.Catch a taxi to the sailing club or louisiana, both on the main beach.Get breakfast or a drink right on the beach. From there you can walk around the tourist/backpacker area of town. You can flag down a cyclo(you won%26#39;t have to as they will find you)and he will take you to the local market. From there you can go to the buddha/cham towers by cyclo or taxi and thats your 4hrs gone.Should not cost you more than $20/30.

Grab a copy of the lonely planet-Vietnam,that will give you a better idea.
