recommended hotels in Phu Quoc

Hi, I am flying to Phu Quoc on sunday 8th and staying till the 12th.

Can anyone recommend which beaches are best and any good hotels for less than $30 - I will be on my own so dont really want to pay more than that.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Just got back from the island. The beaches just south of the town are OK. Try walking through a couple of the resorts like Saigon Phu Quoc to access the beach or hire a scooter and go south about 5 kms toward the pearl farm. Untouched beaches without a soul in site.

Hotels... there is one just south of the town on the right when you hit the dirt road. simple clean and aboput 15-20 USD per night.

Also, there are a couple of rooms above cafe Robinson in the main street (its a relatively new double story buliding with a restaurant and bar). Ask for Tim in the shop next door to the restaurant.

thanks for that - unfortunately didn%26#39;t see your reply till I went - ended up satying at the Tropicana which was good $35 but nice beach and big room.

Food and drink bit pricey but food very good if anyone else is looking for somewhere.
