Halong Bay advice please?

I am traveling alone unless I can find a group to join, I%26#39;d like to go to Vietnam and then to Cambodia to see the temples.

First question: Does anyone know how the weather is in July or august in Halong Bay area? This is a primary interest for me. I%26#39;d hate to get there and find out that I picked the totally wrong time to visit this fabulous area

.. Since I am a single , so far the boat trips have been unafforable since I haven%26#39;t found one without a single surcharge. I%26#39;ve read warnings about the budget trips..bugs etc.

Any advice?

The wettest months in the North are July/August so expect plenty of rain during your time. We were there during December and it was quite cool of an evening but dry.

I would expect that if you have a few days in Hanoi before booking your trip that you could possibly find another solo female traveller to share with.
