Vietnam Airlines- downtown terminal - airport shutte Hanoi

Hi

I am thinking of using the shuttle bus to get from the airport to downtown Hanoi - we are staying in the old quarter - is this a viable option? is there a route map? I understand it goes to the downtown terminal of Vietnam Airlines - is this correct and if so, where is this in proximity to the old quarter?

Thanks in advance

Just did this last week. Cost $2 p person and they drove us a bit further on and dropped us in the Old Quarter. V Airlines office is any way pretty close, so you either walk or take a taxi locally (attention as they cheat with the meters) for max $2.

Minibuses are just outside of the terminal and leave when full. Cheap way to get into town and as traffic is dense I doubt that a taxi from the airport is that much quciker ($15).

thanks for the informative reponse - have a great day :)

Minibuses are to your right as you exit the terminal. I believe theres also another company offering this service (apart from Vietnam Airlines).

Unless you are on a very tight budget, airport taxi would be a more comfortable (and quicker) option especially if there are 2 or more of you.

Just buy a shuttle bus ticket of Jestar or Viet thanh -Kumho, only VND25,000/pax (approx USD1.60). The Jestar%26#39;s last station is located around No. 210 Tran Quang Khai Street, close to Old Quarter. Take a taxi to your hotel. It will take you not more than VND60.000 for 4-seat car. Just thumb up MAI LINH taxi, THU DO taxi, VIET THANH taxi. Several fake taxis though equipped with metter device can hurt you much more than you can imagine!

On the Hanoi Map, the downtown terminal is located at code #70 (South of Center) - very close to the lake, and just a short walk from the Old Quarter.

The minibus only operates until about 7pm at night. If this is your first time in Hanoi, and arrive at a later time, I strongly suggest you have your hotel meet you at the airport.

Hi nowrabase

Using the airport shuttle is a smart/good option.

You will avoid the famous taxi ';scram'; and the ';speeding tripmeter'; at Hanoi.

Some tourist were taken for a very expensive ride from Airport to Hanoi city

Vietnam Airlines is right inside the old quarter.

Use it by all mean.

The 2 of us arrive at 8:30pm at arrive. How long does it take to clear immigration and luggage retrieval?

Are there shuttle bus still available? We stay at the Old Quarter Area, along Yen Thai Street. How far away is hotel from downtown terminal of shuttle?

Thanks in advance for the advise.
