HCMC to Siem Reap

Hi Joy

There are daily bus from HCMC to SiemReap, suggest to take the earlist bus for direct entry to Siem Reap.

The later bus require transist at PP and then transfer to Siem Reap.

HCMC to Siem Reap

I did this trip in December. As far as I know all the buses run by Sapaco go into Phnom Penh, you get off the bus for 15 mins, luggage is taken off also and then another bus arrives, luggage is put on board and off you go again.

I enjoyed the trip although it does take a full day but cheap way to see the countryside. Do not book the back row seats on the bus get seat closer to front of bus as toilet is in the middle area.

Mekong Express bus is better I think than Sapaco as toilet is at the back of the bus and more comfortable. Not much difference in price.

Sapaco bus our luggage did not have to come off at border but on Mekong Express bus all luggage was taken off, you had to carry same through the building and put on x-ray machine and take back out to bus.

I am woman travelling alone and would not hesitate to recommend the bus compared to price of air ticket.

Cool the bus sounds great, is there any way to combine bus and boat and see things on the way?

thanks

I took the Sapaco byu from PP to HCMC and our bags were taken off the bus at the border and we had to take it thru the exray machine at the Vietnamese customs.

dont write off pp i very nearly did and to be honest found it more rewarding than siem reap plus it breaks the journey up a bit

well now theres been a change of plan, ....looking at doing Just Vietnam ...starting in HCMC then onto Mekong delta for a couple of night homestay then onto Phu Quoc for a chill on the island...how does this sound and can i still use buses ect to get around?

thanks
