Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An

We are planning a 5 night girls trip to Vietnam in March. Because our time is so short we are planning on concentrating our visit in the south of Vietnam. We are thinking about flying to HCMC, spending a couple of nights there and then flying to Hoi An for a couple of nights. For those of you that know Vietnam does this seem like a good choice?

Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An

Both places are good choices for a girls%26#39; trip. Hoi An is a bit outside of the south but since you are traveling by plane it doesn%26#39;t much matter. HCMC is a big bustling noisy city that has plenty to offer for your 2 night stay. Hoi An is a bit quieter and easily walkable. You can choose to stay in town and take a bike or taxi to the beach. Or you can choose one of the beach resorts and travel into town. Hoi An is known for tailor-made clothing but with your limited time you shouldn%26#39;t take a chance. You%26#39;ll find many quaint restaurants and cafes in Hoi An. Just bear in mind that you%26#39;ll be flying into DaNang and taking a taxi or other ground transport to Hoi An. It%26#39;s about a 40 minute ride.

Thanks Bonketoo. Is air the best way to get to Hoi An from HCMC or can you travel by train or bus - to see a bit more of the country?

Don%26#39;t worry about that question. Just looked on a map and realised how far HCMC was from Hoi An - was thinking about Nah Trang!!!

excellent choice saigon has so much to offer we stayed 3 nights wish we had stayed 7 but if you only have 1 choice its a must to visit hoi an forget nha trang that could be anywhere in the world you can fly saigon danang in 1 hr max vietnam airways then 40 mins in taxi hoi an to maximise your stay i promise you wont be dissapointed by the way we stayed hoi an 17 nights and wouldnt take 4 days from that to stay 7 saigon just go for longer cos uk sucks
