Silly question about hotel pricing

Hello...

I%26#39;m planning a trip to Vietnam (Hanoi mostly) for late May/early June. I%26#39;m looking at budget hotels online and I%26#39;m finding things in the range of $10-$30 USD. Does that seem about right for budget accommodations?

And my stupid question... is that per person staying in the room, or just for the room? There will be two of us traveling.

Thanks!!

Silly question about hotel pricing

Sounds about right. For $30 you can get a pretty flash room. That%26#39;s the price for two, usually. Often breakfast will be included for the price as well.

Silly question about hotel pricing

Normally in websites listing many hostels, prices are per person. Many small hotels in Hanoi are listed as hostels.

In the websites of the hotels, room rates are per room per night.

Many small hostels usually don%26#39;t include breakfast in their cheap rates. However, when you are in-house, you may contact them to arrange breakfast for you on the day before. Cost is up to US$ 2.- per person. It is bread, fried egg or a bowl of fresh rice vermicelli (locally named Pho, Bun, Mien ..), and a cup of tea or black coffee (very strong!) and some might with banana.

Better check and oonfirm and all should be clear from the beginning.

Nice trip!

Price varies considerably with location - for instance, for a small guesthouse/hotel in March %26#39;08 I paid as little as $9. in Can Tho and as much as $35. for a super duper place in Hanoi. $5. can make a huge difference in the 2-3 star range. Where else in the world can one get as much for one%26#39;s $ as we get in Vietnam? - such a deal! Most in this class do not include an elevator, however, my $35. room did have a lift. In June you should be able to swing quite a deal due to the low demand - hot weather!
