Hue Luxury Hotel

I am planning my trip to Vietnam and will be in hue for 2 nights and Hoi An (The Nam Hai-Yesh!) for 3.

I am debating between La Residence and the Imperial Hotel. The Imperial says they are 5 star and it looks great. La Residence seems to be very popular as well. Which is better? Are both locations similiar?

La Residence is very nice but a taxi ride to get everywhere, The Imperial is new ( about 3 years) and located in Hung Vuong Street.( the main street).

If you wanted an opinion on where to stay in Hue ( and I have stayed / taught there for years) , I would recommend the Hotel Morin ( cnr of Hung Vuong and Le Loi street----right near the Truong Tien bridge in the absolute centre of town). This is an historic hotel, upmarket. The other suggestion is where I have stayed many times is the Huong Giang Hotel in Le Loi street ---beautifully located on the Huong river ---easy walk to everywhere----It has been recently renovated and is true 4* and an absolutely wonderful staff!

La-Residence has good service and Imperial has good price, both are 5* hotel.

Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate it. I have looked at the websites you sggested and they look nice as well. I appreciate you telling me where the hotels are, It sounds like the Imperial is a better location than La Residence and they have very good prices for what is called a 5 star hotel.

La Residence and the Imperial Hotel are the best hotel in Hue. If you have to choose between these two, La Residence will BEAT the Imperial ( according to my experience as a Tour Guide ) for the following reasons

* Colonial style hotel with nice decoration.

* Services with '; Accor '; standard

* Well-trained staffs

The hotel is 1.5km to the city center, but i don%26#39;t think this will be a problem for you. Meter taxis or rickshaws are available at cheap price
