I book all mine direct with the hotel via e-mail. Most will not require a deposit. Haven%26#39;t had any major problems yet apart from a missed airport pick-up.

Expedia, hotels.com, Agoda.com, Wotif.com, asiatravel.com are the most reliable online agents. You should check the rate of hotel would like to book on their sites to get the best deal

better yet, do some searches on the sites suggested, then also contact the hotel you like to find out if there are any special ';discounts'; available. Given the present economic climate, might be able to haggle some of the hotels down to a better rate if you contact them directly. Print the email and bring with you just to be safe.
