Travelling from Phu Quoc to Mekong Delta

Hi,

My husband and I are going to Vietnam in March. Sadly it will be a short trip because of our work commitments. We are flying into HCMC and are keen to start our holiday with a few days relaxing on Phu Quoc to recharge our batteries. We are planning to fly there from HCMC. After a few days we would like to go to the Mekong Delta. I have seen that alot of tour companies do trips around the Mekong which end up on Phu Quoc via the Hydrofoil. Does anyone know of a good company that does these trips the other way round? We figure flying to Phu Quoc and then getting a boat away would make the travelling part more interesting.

You can take this trip with some options :

Option # 1 :

Saigon - Cai Be floating market with home cooked lunch at the local house, pass My Thuan ( Australian bridge), climb monkey bridge - overnight in Can Tho on the fist day, visit Cai Rang early floating market, mainland rat market, back to hotel for breakfast and take shuttle boat to Phu Sa resort for crocodile fishing, have lunch at Sao Hom restaurant, drive to Rach Gia to stay overnight on the second day. The next day, you will fly from Rach Soi airport to Phu Quoc airport or you can take Duong Dong express boat to An Thoi port, Phu Quoc . Normally, you should spend 3 days in Mekong before relaxing on Phu Quoc paradise island

Option # 2 :

Saigon- My Tho islands boat trip- drive to Cai Be, stay overnight at Ba Duc homestay on the first day, explore Cai Be floating market, enjoy home cooked lunch at the local house, drive to Can Tho to stay overnight on the second day. Visit Cai Rang early floating market, mainland rat market, back to hotel for breakfast and take shuttle boat to Phu Sa resort for crocodile fishing, have lunch at Sao Hom restaurant, drive to Rach Gia to stay overnight on the third day. The next day, you will fly from Rach Soi airport to Phu Quoc airport or you can take Duong Dong express boat to An Thoi port, Phu Quoc . Normally, you should spend 4 days in Mekong before relaxing on Phu Quoc paradise island

Option # 3 :

Mai Linh express bus from Saigon to Can Tho to stay overnight, boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, go to Can Tho bus station to buy Mai Linh express bus tickets to arrive Rach Gia to stay overnight and take the Duong Dong express boat to arrive Phu Quoc

or you just take Mai Linh express bus from Saigon to Rach Gia and take Duong Dong express boat to arrive Phu Quoc or fly with Vietnam Airlines from Rach Soi airport in Rach Gia to Phu Quoc island

Option # 4 : Vietnam airlines Saigon- Phu Quoc, you will fly from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia or take Duong Dong express boat to arrive Rach Gia from An Tho port, Phu Quoc

You will drive to Can Tho to stay overnight on the first day, visit Cai Rang floating market, mainland rat market, back to hotel for breakfast and take shutte to arrive Phu Sa island for crocodile fishing and drive to Vinh Long, take boat trip to arrive Ba Duc homestay for cooking lesson and enjoy dinner at the back of the garden. The next day, you will explore Cai Be floating market , enjoy some candies, walk around local village, enjoy home cooked lunch at the local house, drive back to Saigon

Option # 5 : Vietnam airlines Saigon- Phu Quoc, you will fly from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia or take Duong Dong express boat to arrive Rach Gia from An Tho port, Phu Quoc

You will drive to Can Tho to stay overnight on the first day, visit Cai Rang floating market, mainland rat market, back to hotel for breakfast and take shutte to arrive Phu Sa island for crocodile fishing and take Thanh Nhan express boat back to Saigon

Option # 6 : Vietnam airlines Saigon- Phu Quoc, you will fly from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia or take Duong Dong express boat to arrive Rach Gia from An Tho port, Phu Quoc

Take Mai Linh express bus to arrive Can Tho, visit Visit Cai Rang early floating market, mainland rat market, back to hotel for breakfast and take shuttle boat to Phu Sa resort for crocodile fishing, have lunch at Sao Hom restaurant, take Mai Linh express bus back to Saigon or take Thanh Nhan express boat back to Saigon
