Thinking of travelling to Vietnam with my wife (54 and 48)towards the end of the year. Would like to visit Laos as well . Have been to Vietnam twice but not to Laos . Any tips as to good places to cross from Vietnam into laos ? Suggestions for not to miss places. Also have spent some time in and around Sapa .Would like to visit more minorities ,any suggestions. Also Have been past Hue but didnt visit due to time constraints , worth a visit ? Thanks.PS We are not 5 star travellers

After you visit Hue, go to the international border Lao Bao in Quang Tri Province. Only can be done by road.

We were in many places in Vietnam and both hubby and I love Sapa and Hue. We skipped Hue in our first trip to the North but glad we did 8 months later. Foods are beautiful and delicious. People (not hotel staff) seemed to be calmer than those in HCMC.

We are going back for third time to Vietnam this May/June -can%26#39;t wait. Similar ages (49 each)

What do you want from Laos? We enjoyed just chilling out in Luang Prabang but vientiane was just a transit place - not sure you would want to spend an extended time there unless you were on a long trip.

I think you should consider flying Hanoi to LP.

We are in May going to do a week in the Central Highlands of Vietnam on a private tour with us, driver , guide and vehicle. Going fromn Buon Ma Thout to Danang over 6 days with lots of ethnic villages etc.
