Oh, what to do?

Hi All,

Heading to Vietnam in early April and we%26#39;re planning for a couple of days in Sapa. We%26#39;re kind of between two places to stay right now - Topas Ecolodge and Thai Binh Sapa Hotel. Clearly two very different hotels and two different prices. Both look fantastic. My question for those who know these places or know the area - is Topas worth the extra money? The scoop on Thai Binh seems to be that it%26#39;s a great place and the owner is incredibly nice. The scoop on Topas is that it%26#39;s in a beautiful spot and it%26#39;s a bit more upscale. What would you do if you were in our shoes? We%26#39;re into the hiking/trekking thing and love being outdoors.

Any thoughts and opinions are welcome.

Thanks!

You%26#39;re right, totally diffirent:

- Topas Eco lodge: unique accommodation in Sapa. 25 bungalows overlooking a magnificant valley. Located 18km from Sapa centre.

- Thai Binh Sapa: simple hotel right but located right the town centre.

I prefer Topas.

If you%26#39;re going to be spending a lot of time out of your hotel room, Thai Binh might be a better choice... since when you get back to the hotel, you%26#39;ll be dead tired and it%26#39;ll be too dark to see any view.

In the morning you will be hurrying to get up and get out for more trekking anyway.

:) just my two cents!
