We have planned to visit Hanoi this coming early April 09. This is our first timers but have no clue about the places. My questions are:
1. Do we need to engage local tour guide during my stay or we can easily move around without the need of tour guide?
2. We plan to stay 5 nights and not sure what are the places that we should visit and not miss out. Would anyone recommend this?
3. Any good local tour that we can contact them?
4. Do we need to apply VISA for entry to Hanoi if we are a Malaysian.
Your feed back would be very much appreciated.

Hanoi Trip
Hi Ray
We malaysian do not require a VISA to visit Vietnam.
Stay at old quarter at Hanoi.
We normally moved around Hanoi easily without any guide but grab a street map of Hanoi.
For local tour just walk in to any tour agenty at old quarter and compared for best price.
Tour agency normally open till 9pm daily.
Places to visit:
Halong Bay
Sapa
Ninh Binh
Temple of Literture and others
Change currency at airport

Hi there,
you should book any hotel in Old Quarter if you prefer budget accommodation, Map of Hanoi is available in Hotel. it is easy to travel with map in here,
Vote for Halong bay,2 days, sapa 2 days
No need to get entry visa
Have fun
Tony
Ray,
With 5 nights I think you should go
Hanoi, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, Halong Bay (on junk) and back to Hanoi.
Martin
All, thanks for the prompt feedback.
