Hanoi in late March

I%26#39;ll be travelling with a group of friends to Hanoi late March. As we are first time visitors to Hanoi, I would like to ask the seasoned travellers the following (please respond according to points raised, then any other tips that I had not thought to ask) :

1. what festivals %26amp; special events are available to watch ?

2. are roads, buildings, pavements, transport, etc wheel-chair friendly?

3. what is a reasonable tip for bell hops, drivers, waiters, etc?

4. where are restaurants, cafes, etc that offer vegetarian food at reasonable prices ? I looked up Tamarind Cafe, KOTO,

5. what are usual operating hours for stores, supermarkets, shopping malls?

6. anything else I should know?

Appreciate your time to answer my questions.

Hanoi in late March

Hi summer,

1.In Hanoi, at the end of March, they have Hung%26#39;s King Festival which is one of the national festival in Vietnam. Hung King is the founder of the country.

There are also Perfume Pagoda and Yen Tu Festival, a kind of Buddhism festival. Quite busy.

2.The pavement in the Old Street of Hanoi now is not good for wheel chair as they mixed it up all. But the road to all the main destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Sapa are quite ok.

3.Depend on your feelings about the services. If they do not do a good job, you can give them less or even 0. Anyway it is your satisfaction on the services.

4.May be Com chay nang tam is another choice for vegetarian dishes. Anyway, there are a lot of the other place can offer you veget meal.

5.For the shop, 8h30 - 20h30, for the Super Market, 8h00 to 21h30 in genaral.

6.There is a night market in the Old St which is ok. Some bars are quite nice as well. I think Hanoi is a lovely city.
