Airport transfer at night

Our flight doesn%26#39;t arrive Hanoi till almost 10pm. I assume it will cost more to get to Hanoi Old Quarter? What are our options (aside from xe oms)and how much will it cost?

Are water puppet shows from municipal theater avail every day and what are the current times?

The time you arrive, I am sure that it%26#39;s not late to have Taxi or minibus, always available transportation. Do not be worried any thing.

It%26#39;s amazing to see water puppet show, nearly Hoan Kiem lake, it has a fews at 15.30; 17.15; 18.30; 20.00, last 21.15. Now is high reason, not easy to buy at 17.15 or 18.30. Certaintly it depends for each day %26amp; time, luck.

If this is your first trip to Hanoi, I suggest you instruct your hotel to meet your plane. Hanoi airport can be difficult to negotiate - very poor signing! My hotel charges $16. for the service.

Thanks for the feedback. My hotel charges $18 so it%26#39;s high compared to the minibus, if its available by 10 or 10:30 pm. Does anyone know where to catch the minibus and cost?

How much is taxi supposed to cost at that time of the night? I notice most hotel pickups in Vietnam seem to be more than taking a taxi?!

I thought Noi Bai is one of the least complicated international airports around. Its quite small and when you get out of the terminal, the various taxi companies stands are right in front.

The fare should not be more than USD15

The minibus stops around 7pm

every time I ask directions at this airport, I get different answers, and I was quoted ridiculous prices for transfers downtown ($18.-36.)

Taxi fare in Vietnam does not charge for late time or entering city center.

When you come out from the terminal gate, there is a taxi line on your right with clear signage how much. No other fee.

Have done both ways and the comfort level of a sign with your name on it is well worth the few extra dollars esp. after a long long flight - taxi drivers mostly have poor English skills and will try to steer you to their ';favorite'; hotels. Make arrangments thru hotel

There is an official taxi rank at Hanoi airport and you walk out the front doors and it will be on your left. There are a few options but you pay $15 USD which includes toll. I was there a couple of weeks ago. I am sure there will be no problem with availability. There was a woman there who was managing the process and i told her where i wanted to go so she could relay in vietnamese to driver then checked with her that she had told him name of hotel and address. It does pay to check.

My hotel always used tourist taxi service as they said they were honest. I found them always legit. enjoy

arrived hanoi airport 6pm.

got minibus from taxi rank outside airport - 3 usd per person.

passed big sign announcing road deaths in the city for the day (3 on the day in question)

5 mins later taxi crashes into our bus. bus driver gets out to sort it out, taxi driver zooms away, bus driver hops back in and high speed chase thru red lights, up one way streets commences. 15 mins later finally lose taxi and bus driver gives up. 8 tourists in bus in state of terror.

taxi then drops every1 at wrong hostel and we had to get motorbikes to where we really wanted to go - which was a pain (%26amp; pretty scary after bus experience!!!)

so yeah might be good idea to book transport from airport beforehand - thou dont know if its any guarntee of arriving at your destination in one piece!!!!
