Private (tour) car from Saigon to Chau Doc in 2 days

Hi,

We are planning to go to Cambodia trough Mekong delta and catch the boat in Chau Doc to Cambodia. We would like to stay overnight in Can Tho. So the trip would last 2 days (1 night).

We would like to choose the restaurants to eat and hotel to sleep. We just would like to have a driver who speaks few words english.

Does anybody know a good agency? How much would that cost for 2 people?

How about visa for Cambodia?

Thank you for all answers in advance and have a nice day....

Dear Barbara,

I think you have not enough time for 2days if you overnight in Cantho. You should sleep in ChauDoc and take HangChau speed boat at 8:00 to phnompenh 13:00, visa at border

If you need more help, please PM to me

Good luck

Thank you all for your help.We will stay one night in Can Tho, and another in Chau Doc or maybe 2 in Chau Doc.

I do have some more questions:

We would like to do a boat trip in My Tho and in Can Tho. But would like to take the small boat (2 person)when we get there.

Is this possible? Or do we have to book this in advance?

And please, if somebody can tell us aprox. how much would cost a boat trip in My Tho (2 hours)and where to go to find the boat, and how much is the trip in Can tho in the early morning (3 hours)?

Can we just go to the river and find a boat?

How is Chau Doc? Is there someting to do for 2 days, or is one night enough?

Thank you all for your help.

To arrange the boat trip in Mekong, you can call 84 (0)903909755.

I would recommend you do boat tour in Caibe/Vinhlong on the way to Cantho from Saigon instead of in Mytho where for those who have one day tour to Mekong from Saigon.

Hi Barbara,

2 weeks ago, we arrived in HCMC and booked a tour with Sinh Cafe for a 3day/2night tour via the Mekong and which sleeps in Can Tho the first night, Chau Doc the 2nd night and we arrived in P. Penh on the 3rd night at around 7pm.

The tour included boat tours around Can Tho and Chau Doc and a boat/van ride from Chau Doc, including a ride in a row boat for two people ( somebody does the rowing, not the passengers, hotels for two night , one free lunch and 2 free breakfast. I paid around $48.00 (each person) for this tour. You can upgrade your hotel by paying an additional fee. I forgot how much more to pay for the upgrade as we did not do so but I believe they quoted something like $15.00 or $25.00 more per night for the upgrade.

The Hotel they provided had clean bath rooms, with hot/cold water, refregirator and aircon and despite my fears we encountered no mosquitos. Some of our companions elected not to stay in the hotel but arrange a home stay instead. So Sing Cafe is flexible on the hotel side of the tour. You can even arrabge to stay one more day in either Can Tho or Chaudoc and just join the next tour as there are tours every day.

The free lunch on the first day was adequate. The place was a restaurant so you could order additional food and others did. In fact many local people were eating there (always a good sign) at the same time.

You need not take the free hotel breakfast if it is not to your liking as the hotel can cook what you want for an additional fee. The rest of the meals are on your own. For lunch the bus or van takes the entire group to a restaurant with a wide variety of choices and for dinner they suggest places where you can get good food.

They also offer a two day/one tour on the Mekong which ends in P. Penh.

Their web site is :www.sinhcafevn.com . Their office is in De Tham St. in District 1.

Sinh Cafe is popular and there are copy cats so beware. The above is the real one.

There are many other tour operators in District 1 offering similiar tours but as I have not experienced them, I am unable to comment about them.

Do some research on this forum.

Enjoy your trip.
